Pgmp training
Program Management Professional (PgMP) Exam consists mostly situational questions which require understanding of a test person's program management concepts in depth. On examination survey, with adaptation techniques such as case studies and examples of understanding and memory retention in both compulsory PgMP supports the presence of the test. The case study described below is designed to support customers in their assessment study.
Case study:
XYZ Inc. is an information and communications technology company specializing in software development. XYZ Inc. has more than 2,000 employees, particularly software designers and developers, 2 and 6 regional centers. Managers at XYZ Inc. has a green IT program, which moves in the direction of energy efficiency Inc Aurora approves.
Program Title: XYZ Green IT
Program Objective: To increase energy efficiency by 20% in 2012 and meet emissions targets in the country of XYZ Inc works. XYZ Inc. expects to meet its targets for energy efficiency by reducing energy consumption, improve waste management, workflow
Definition of a Program: A program managed by a group of projects in a coordinated manner defined
Projects are XYZ Green-IT program:
- Reduce energy consumption for data centers
- Improve the construction of facilities (lighting, air conditioning, etc..)
- Virtualization of work processes
- Improved recycling and waste management
Project 1:
Data Center Power Consumption
Data center energy consumption contributes to 30% of total electricity consumption in XYZ Inc. is a data center that hosts a physical location of servers, process and distribute information. These servers need electricity 24 / 7 without interruption. Physical location must also constantly electricity for air conditioning to cool servers
The project includes replacing existing servers with new energy-efficient servers that consume less electricity and improve the redesign of the layout of data center cooling
Project 2:
Office Building Facilities
Office building energy consumption contributes to 50% of total electricity consumption in XYZ Inc. buildings are important places for electricity consumption. Energy wasted in buildings because of poor planning and design. Lighting, air conditioning, computer hardware (desktops, printers), elevators, etc. are built to full capacity. The project involves the implementation of the occupancy-based lighting, maximum use of daylight, automatic stand-by hardware
Project 3:
Virtualization
A large proportion of operating costs XYZ Inc's business travel, training and office. The project involves the implementation of telecommuting and virtual options for organizing meetings, courses and conferences. Work from home option is expected to reduce travel and thus reduce carbon emissions. Implementation of training, conferences and workshops through remote online technologies will reduce the logistics with the physical movement of people and goods.
Project 4:
Recycling & Disposal
Much of the material should be disposed of XYZ Inc, inefficient processes. The project includes creation of a paperless office and coal instead of natural products with environmentally friendly alternatives. The project also includes increasing the life of the products purchased, resulting in disposal of discarded products
Conclusion
Program Management concepts can best be achieved through a case study above, of course. Most concepts of program management standard can be understood about this case study. All education is a case study method is used to illustrate and explain the key concepts.
